BBQ Brussels Sprouts Pizza

Happy Pizza Wednesday! I never liked brussels sprouts before Dave and I started dating. A little nuance goes a long way with brussels sprouts, by sauteing them before adding them to the pizza, it will help to extract some of the best flavors which come out when the brussels are a little caramelized.

Recipe from A Beautiful Mess.

Ingredients:
-Pizza dough
-1/4 cup BBQ sauce
-1/2 cup brussels sprouts, cut into fourths
-1/2 red onion
-2 cups shredded cheese

Finely chop the onion and but the brussels sprouts into fourths. Heat a little olive oil over medium heat and saute both for about five minutes.

Roll out the dough and top with the BBQ sauce spread into a thin layer. Then top with the cheese, onion and brussels sprouts. Bake for 15 minutes or until crust is golden brown.

This pizza was really simple to make, the BBQ sauce paired nicely with the brussels sprouts. I've never had brussels sprouts on a pizza before and it was a fun topping to add. A little red pepper flakes are good one this as well to draw a little heat out of the BBQ sauce.
