Bloomin' Onion Bread

I stumbled across this recipe on Pinterest and cannot take any credit for its origins. There are also several different versions of this recipe on Google. It just looked so fantastic that I had to try it!

Ingredients:
-Loaf of uncut bread
-Block of mozzarella cheese
-1/2 cup green onions
-1 cup butter, melted
-garlic powder to taste
-pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 350

Slice bread into 1/2 inch slices going across, without cutting into the bottom of the loaf.
Then slice lengthwise. I found that if you have one person hold the ends of the loaf together while the other one slices the bread this step will become much easier.

Stuff sliced mozzarella into all open areas.

In a bowl melt the butter and add the green onions, garlic powder and black pepper.
Pour the mixture over the loaf.

Bake the Bloomin' Onion Bread covered at 350 for 10 minutes and then uncovered for 5-10 minutes depending on how quickly the cheese has melted.
When the bread is finished, the cheese will be completely melted.

This recipe was really quick and easy to make -- the perfect appetizer for a party.

Although you shouldn't cut through the bottom of the bread, make sure that you cut deep enough so that the pieces can be pulled out of the main loaf (like a Bloomin' Onion).

The green onions made the bread taste fresh without giving an overpowering onion flavor that other varieties of raw onion would have given. I will be making this for my next party, this is an appetizer which everyone is sure to love.
