Ricotta + Spicy Honey Naan Pizzas with Microgreens
Summer is finally here in Ohio which is allowing our plants to dry out but the high temperatures are making it unpleasant to enjoy the outdoors. This is the first year that we've received microgreens in our CSA box and I haven't branched out too far in using them yet. If we receive a few more containers I may try to remove myself from the pizza rut but they look so pretty on individual pizzas it's hard to think about the nice color contrast when creating recipes. These microgreens contained micro-mibuna so there was a little bite to them. The ingredients below are for one naan pizza and should be increased as you increase the recipe. We've been using the naan sandwich rounds frequently for sandwiches and used those here but mini naan or regular naan would be fine too. The sriracha and honey combination adds a sweet and spicy component which balances well with the savory ricotta.
A Vegetarian & Cooking original.
Ingredients:
-Naan or Naan Sandwich Rounds
-2 tablespoons of ricotta
-1/2 tablespoon honey
-1/2 tablespoon sriracha
-salt and pepper to taste
-Microgreens
To make the naan pizzas spread two tablespoons of ricotta onto each naan round, season with salt and pepper to taste, and then bake at 400 for 5-7 minutes. Remove the naans from the oven and drizzle with sriracha and honey before topping with fresh microgreens.
