Flaky Chili Honey Feta Rolls Appetizer

These feta rolls provide an inviting bite to start off the Thanksgiving meal. The crisp, flaky handheld appetizer is fun to eat, and the combination of feta and honey strikes a balance between sweet and savory. The chili honey sauce reinforces the flavors in the filling, and is a necessary textural contrast to the flaky dough, with a little kick as well.

Recipe from A Bright Moment

Ingredients:
For the Feta Rolls:
-14-16 Frozen Sheet Phyllo Dough (Thawed)
-8 ounce feta cheese, crumbled
-2 garlic cloves, minced
-2 tablespoon honey|
-2 sprigs of fresh thyme leaves
-1/4 teaspoon each: salt & black pepper
-1/4 cup Olive Oil

For the Sauce:
-5 tablespoon honey
-1 tablespoon Olive Oil
-1 teaspoon chili pepper flakes
-1 sprig of thyme leaves

Preheat the oven to 425.

First, prepare the filling by combining crumbled feta, minced garlic, honey, thyme leaves, salt and black pepper. Place the olive oil in a dish for brushing the phyllo dough.

Brush a phyllo sheet with olive oil, then fold in half. Cut the folded dough in half lengthwise and add a tablespoon of filling to each half. For each half, brush with olive oil again, fold in two sides and roll the dough over the filling. Brush the top with olive oil, and add salt to finish.

Place the finished rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 18-20 minutes, they should come out flaky and golden brown.

To create the sauce, add the ingredients to a saucepan or microwaveable dish. Warm the ingredients and stir to combine.
