Rosemary Infused Blood Orange Cocktail

This mix can take a little planning if you choose to infuse your vodka with rosemary. The result is a cocktail with enough blood orange and herbal rosemary notes to keep you interested but still easy-going and refreshing. The vibrant red-orange color is especially inviting.

This year I've had the worst time finding fresh blood oranges in my local grocery stores so I decided to invest in a pre-made blood orange syrup. If you have access to blood oranges a fresh syrup would be delicious but right now the ingredients just aren't local to me.

Ingredients:
-2 ounces vodka
-A few sprigs of rosemary
-2 ounces blood orange syrup
-Club soda

Pour vodka in a sealable container with a few sprigs of rosemary and let sit for up to five days to allow the flavor of the herb to infuse into the vodka. This recipe is for one drink serving, so now would be a good time to estimate how many total servings you might need to make. Discard the rosemary sprigs after infusing.

To prepare the drink, add vodka and blood orange syrup to a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into the serving glass. Top with club soda, ice if desired, and a fresh rosemary sprig for garnish.
