Apple Crisp Pizza
I have so many apples in my house this time of year, and this was a creative way to use them in a dessert. It reminded me of an apple pizza dessert they had at Cici's Pizza.
This recipe is from The Girl Who Ate Everything.
Ingredients:
Pizza base
-9 inche pastry crust pie
-2/3 cup sugar
-3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
-1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
-4 medium apples, peeled and diced
Topping
-1/2 cup flour
-1/3 cup packed brown sugar
-1/2 cup rolled oats
-1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
-1/4 cup butter
Drizzle
-1/2 cup caramel topping
-Ice cream
Preheat the oven to 350.
Combine the sugar, cinnamon, apples, and flour. It was a little dry at first, but as it sat while I made the topping the juice from the apple made it all gooey and come together. |
Mix together all the ingredients for the topping. It should start to form small clumps.
Top the pie crust with the apple mixture. The juice that spilled out looked really tasty. |
Spread the topping on. |
Bake for 35-40 minutes. |
Top with warmed caramel and ice cream. |
I liked this a lot, I ate it right when it came out of the oven. The hot pizza and caramel with cold ice went together well. It was a little like apple pie, but thinner and crispier.
