Cheese-its
These actually had the same flavor as the cheeze its from the box! I thought the only difference was that they were a little softer, and the kind from the box are a little crunchier. But I thought that was a good thing.
This recipe is from Shop Girl.
Ingredients:
-8 oz shredded cheddar cheese-1 cup all-purpose flour
-4 tbs softened unsalted butter
-1 tsp salt
-4 tbs cold water
Mix cheese, salt, flour and butter in a bowl. It was pretty thick and not much like dough at this point. Then add the water (I added a little bit at a time until it looked ok) and mix with a mixer.
Divide the dough in two and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Use a rolling pin to flatten the dough. Cut into squares (I used a wavy cheese cutter I had). Poke a hole in the center with a toothpick. Bake at 375 for 7-10 minutes.
These took a little bit of time to make, but it wasn't too bad, I thought it was worth it to have a homemade snack. Everyone else that tried these really liked them too.
