Peanut Butter Cup Rice Crispy Treats
Peanut butter and chocolate are some of my favorite dessert flavors. I think that those flavors compliment each other the best. This dessert looks like it has a lot of ingredients, but you probably have most of them in your pantry already. Also, I cut this in half to make an 8x8 pan, but the recipe is left in the original format to be made in a 9x13 pan.

3rd Layer
-3 cups Crispy Rice cereal
-½ of a 10 oz bag of marshmallows
-2 tablespoons butter, softened
-1/3 cup peanut butter
-½ teaspoon vanilla extract
4th Layer
-1 cup + 2 tablespoons smooth peanut butter
-2 cups chocolate chips
To make the first layer add the butter, marshmallows and peanut butter to a microwavable bowl. Once the marshmallows are melted, stir everything together and gently add in the rice crispies. |
Press into a greased 8x8 pan. |
Spread out your mini peanut butter cups and gently press into the fudge layer. Dave and I were eating these the whole time we were making this recipe, that's probably why we didn't have enough. |
Refrigerate until ready to serve. |
This was an incredibly rich dessert -- but it got rave reviews. Dave and I brought this to a family dinner and the leftovers went over well with his roommate's kids. It looks like a lot of ingredients, but they're probably things you have on hand. This is incredibly easy to make. It would be perfect for a bake sale!
