Cream Cheese Wontons
One of our favorite appetizer recipes is cream cheese wontons. I love using wonton wrappers in recipes because they are super versatile. Frying these will crisp up the wonton shell while keeping the cream cheese in the center soft and delicious.
Recipe from The Pioneer Woman.
Ingredients:
-8 ounces, weight cream cheese
-2 whole green onions
-1 tablespoon sriracha
-1/2 cup water
-24 whole wonton wrappers
-Vegetable oil, for frying
Dipping Sauce:
-2 tablespoons soy sauce
-3 tablespoons honey
-1 teaspoon rice wine vinegar
-1/4 teaspoon sesame oil
-1 Tablespoon sriracha
Mix together the cream cheese, green onions and hot sauce.
In order to see the method I used to seal the wontons, watch the video below. I used water to seal the edges, this will allow the edges to stick together. You want to add one tablespoon of filling to the center before starting.

Dave and I enjoyed these wontons as a quick appetizer before dinner. The filling had good flavor and wasn't too spicy. Dave and I usually purchase a frozen version of these because most take-out places around here only serve meat-filled wonton appetizers. We also liked the sauce, it was sweet without being cloying and had a subtle amount of heat.
