Tequila Sunrise Sorbet

We recently got an ice cream maker!! I am so excited to try ice cream, sorbet and frozen yogurt recipes. This first one is a tequila sunrise sorbet from Vegetarian Times July/August 2013 p.71.

Ingredients:

-1 banana, broken into pieces
-½ cup sugar
-2 ½ cups freshly squeezed orange juice
-¼ cup tequila
-1 ½ cups pomegranate seeds or pomegranate juice

In a blender mix together all ingredients except for the pomegranate seeds/ pomegranate syrup. Then pour into your ice cream maker and churn according to package directions. Pour into a container and freeze.
Scoop the sorbet into a dish.
Pour the pomegranate syrup over the sorbet.
Enjoy!

This recipe was good, I was disappointed that we couldn't find pomegranate at the grocery store so we had to settle for pomegranate syrup instead. This sorbet was in the freezer for about an hour or so, but it would have been even better if it had been frozen over night. We really wanted to serve this after dinner though so we served it early. The sorbet had a nice creamy texture and good flavor though.
