Lemon-Thyme Crostini
This recipe was served as an appetizer at our 3rd Annual Festivus party this year (oh yes, I have a Festivus party every year). This recipe was easy to make and had few ingredients, you can find that original here.
Ingredients:
-8 ounces ricotta cheese
-1 lemon; zested
-Salt
-Freshly cracked black pepper
-Honey
-8 springs fresh thyme
-Black Hawaiian sea salt; optional
Preheat the oven to 425 (this is to toast the bread)
Mix together the ricotta, lemon zest, salt and pepper. |
Spread the ricotta and lemon zest onto the toast. |
Top with more seasoning. |
Drizzle with honey. |
This appetizer wasn't as lemony as I thought it would be. I would recommend using a different cheese than ricotta because the ricotta overall was pretty bland. I think brie would be a great cheese for this recipe. There's one other Festivus appetizer yet to come, perfect to serve both at a party because they have the same ingredients.
