Hibachi Onion Soup
I love going to hibachi restaurants and the one near me serves some of the best martinis. I've had a lot of great times there celebrating anniversaries, bachelorette parties and "just because" dinners.
One of the most popular recipes on this blog is for the Yum Yum sauce served at hibachi restaurants. The sauce is an exact replica of that delicious sauce when served with vegetables that recipe would pair great with this hibachi onion soup recipe for a much cheaper version of hibachi dinner at home.
You can find the original recipe here.

4 cups vegetable broth
2 cups water
1 white onion
1/2 celery stalk, coarsely chopped
1/2 carrot, coarsely chopped

The original recipe calls for frying your own onions, I just bought some for about $1.80 at the store.

Bring to a boil in the vegetable broth/water. |
Reduce and simmer for 20 minutes. |
Serve topped with mushrooms, green onions and fried onions. |
