"I Love You More Than..." Cookies

J and I celebrated our two year anniversary of dating on Thursday and went out to a fantastic dinner at the Melting Pot last night. I baked these cookies as a gift for my boyfriend and they turned out so cute. The cookie recipe comes from the 1980's edition of the Good Housekeeping Cookbook and the inspiration for the cookies came from Pinterest.

Ingredients:
-3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
-1 1/2 cups sugar
-2/3 cups shortening
-2 eggs
-2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
-2 tablespoons milk
-1 teaspoon vanilla
-1/2 teaspoon salt

Mix all of the ingredients in a mixer until completely mixed.
The dough will be crumb-like.
Form the dough into a ball.
Wrap in wax paper and refrigerate for two-four hours.
Once removed from the refrigerator roll out half of the dough.

Use a cookie cutter.
Bake for 8 minutes, or until golden brown.
Spread frosting on while the cookies are still hot.
I also piped store bought frosting onto the cookies.
Write out your sayings.

The cookie recipe is my go to sugar cookie recipe and this is a great anniversary or Valentine's Day gift for a significant other.
